Rules & Procedures

Central Texas Super Cup Rules & Procedures

Central Texas Super Cup Tournament will be played under FIFA Rules as modified below stated changes and the additions adhered to:

​

  • All games will be considered as FINAL and NO Protest will be allowed.

  • Games will be played in accordance with age group, with 5-minute half time rest period:

    • U11-12: 30-minute halves

    • U13-14: 35-minute halves 

    • U15 and older: 40-minute halves 

  • Unlimited substitutions 

    • Substitutions are unlimited, for both teams, and allowed on all stoppages except free-kick-restarts for fouls, offside and penalty kicks.

  • Referee to keep a running clock.

    • Time will not be stopped except for medical emergencies.

  • TEAM ROSTER

    • All players must be registered to the governing body of USYS or US Club

    • Age categories will conform to STYSA age categories.

    • 16 players maximum for 9v9 teams

    • 18 players maximum for 11v11 teams

  • CLUB PASS PLAYERS

    • Please utilize the club pass function in gotsport first. In the case this does not work, players may be hand written on the card.

    • 4 secondary players may be used for 9v9 teams within a game

    • 5 secondary players may be used for 11v11 teams within a game

    • Any further exceptions need to be submitted to the club directors

  • SCORE CARDS

    • Both teams must have a game card present at the match. 

    • Team manager/coach listed on roster are responsible for signing score card at the end of the game for correct reporting.  Be sure to double check score accuracy and team name accuracy.

  • REPORTING THE SCORE

    • Home team will report the score through Gotsport no later than 24 hours after the end of the game regardless of the result.

    • Use the game number listed on your card or the QR code to report the score. 

    • NO CHANGES will be made to scoring after cards are recorded

    • Photo copies of game card must be uploaded when reporting the score. We suggest both teams take a photo of the game card for their records in the event of any issues.

    • Emails will be sent to both teams if no score is reported after the 24 hour window. 

  • RED CARD VIOLATIONS

    • A player ejected for a red card violation will be suspended for the remainder of that game.  Players are eligible to play in the next game. 

  • MINIMUM PLAYERS

    • All teams must have a minimum of 7 players (11v11 games), 5 players (9v9 games) on the field to begin.

  • UNIFORMS

    • All players MUST have shin guards

    • All players must have unique numbers/letters on shirts/jerseys

    • Jerseys must all be same color of the team

    • Matching shorts/socks not necessary (though we encourage fun and spirited uniforms)  

    • Home team wears their dark colors and Away team wears their light colors. Bring a backup jersey, as the home team changes if the opposing team has the same color.

    • Hard sided braces must be wrapped for safety of others

  • GAME SCHEDULE

    • Changes to schedule made after the start of the tournament (i.e. due to circumstances beyond our control, injury, lightening...) will be updated at the end of day on our website page.  Rescheduled games due to these circumstances will be made up accordingly.  

    • Please connect with your respective field assignor and opponent to get the game rescheduled online within 48 hours of the cancellation.

    • All finals will be played at the Home teams venue and the time should be agreed upon by both teams.

  • SCORING

    • Win:    6 points, plus 1 point for each goal scored (max of 3 goals)

    • Tie:    3 points, plus 1 point for each goal scored (max of 3 goals)

      • * A 0-0 tie will be scored as 4 points for each team, 3 pts for tie & 1 pt for shutout

    • Loss:    0 points, plus 1 point for each goal scored (max of 3 goals)

  • Bonus:    1 point given for a shutout, 1 point per goal scored (max 3)

    • *Teams will be given the bonus points for goals scored without regard to the outcome of the game. That is, the losing team will receive points for goals scored and 0 points for the loss.

  • FORFEITED GAMES

    • In the event a team forfeits a match, all points from tournament games involving that team will be dropped from the calculation of final standings. All forfeits will be scored as 1-0. (7 points to the opposing team) for all games forfeited.

  • Referee No Show Resolution - If officials do not show for a game in the competition, the game will be rescheduled.  A no show by refs must be reported to the CTX Super Cup Directors.  The away team for that game will now become the home team for the rescheduled game. If a team no shows to a game, the same directors will make a final decision on the outcome of that game.

  • Suspended Games - If a game is suspended due to extenuating circumstances (ie. weather issues), the game will be restarted at the point the game was stopped with the same score when the game was suspended.  

  • ADVANCEMENT TO FINALS

  • Refer to tournament specific rules for determination on bracket advancement:

    • Brackets with 5 teams:

      • highest scoring team in each group is the winner 

    • Brackets with 4 teams:

      • Top two scoring teams overall advance 

    • Brackets with 6 teams:

      • Two highest scoring teams overall advance

    • Brackets with 8 teams:

      • Highest scoring team within each bracket advances

  • Tie Breakers 

    •   In the event of a points tie, group winner will be declared based on:

      • Head-to-Head (if teams have played each other)

      • Goal Differential

      • Goals For

      • Goals Against

      • Coin Flip

      • Teams playing in a final will go straight to PK’s after game regulation.

  • WEATHER

    • All games are subject to the policies of the venue.
